The latest pastienews. Bad News / Good News Posted Wednesday, June 5, 2002 by devon The bad news first: it looks like the Pasties will be going underground for a while. After our winter touring and our trip down to Austin, it became clear that such a busy schedule just wasn't sustainable for the other guys in the group. We're not booking any further Pasties shows for now, though I do hope and expect that the Pasties wll return some day. The good news, though, is that my new project The Animators is now ready for prime time. You can check out the first four tracks at: http://theanimators.com. Also, I posted a BRAND NEW, previously unreleased Pasties song, "Million and One" which you can download at http://thepasties.com/1000001.mp3. Wreck Wins Big! Posted Wednesday, March 27, 2002 by devon We got some good news recently ... our song, "The Wreck of You and Me," off Platonica, was just awarded the Grand Prize in the Great American Song Contest! So if you were wondering who's got the Great American Song, well, we do. Big In Texas Posted Tuesday, March 19, 2002 by devon ![]() South By Southwest was fun! Our own set, at the Hard Rock, went super (thanks for asking) -- we were all a little freaked out, what with all the "industry" types around, but we got through the set without major incident. Musicdish.com reports that we "romped through a happy and tight set of careful pop and solid craft." We'll take that. We also heard some great stuff by other bands in Austin -- some pleasant surf-era pop by the Shins, promising songs by locals Western Keys, and a surprisingly rocking set by the Webb Brothers. A big Pastieland thanks to Bart and Sharon Davis for putting us up and stuffing us with Tasty Kremes -- y'all rock! News managed by NewsPro. Older news... |
